Whether you are new to singing or have been studying for years, I would be thrilled to work with you to make you the best musician you can be.
What is more joyful than singing? As a lifelong classical musician, there is nothing I love more than sharing the beauty, power, and wonder that one can experience when making music. Singing well is challenging and requires dedication, but I know that as we work to increase the strength and flexibility of your voice, and build your musicianship, you will find that it was worth the effort.
Whether you are new to singing or have been studying for years, I would be thrilled to teach you. As a professional opera singer for the past ten years, I am uniquely qualified to help you progress--we will work on the fundamentals of vocal technique, language (both diction and understanding), and musical style. And if your interests lie in music theater or choral singing, that's great! I have had great success working with students working in all genres.
Each lesson begins with a vocal warmup, in which we practice the foundation of proper classical vocal technique: breath support, legato, and beauty and evenness of tone. We will then work on pieces in the classical or traditional musical theater repertoires, building on what we began in your warm up, and also working on language, interpretation, and musical style.
I have been thrilled by the progress my students have made, and proud to see the results of their hard work. Some of their accomplishments are listed below:

National semifinalist, Classical Singer Competition, Music Theater Division
Featured solo recital, WFMT's Introductions series (Chicago Classical Radio)
